What to write about
- Corrections. A stitch count that does not add up, a chart with a symbol missing, a yardage figure that came out wrong for you. Include the page address and the size you knitted.
- Gauge that will not match. Tell us the yarn, the needle and the gauge you got. We cannot diagnose it from a distance, but the answer often helps the next person, and it sometimes turns into an entry.
- Coverage requests. A technique you needed and could not find. Specific requests get answered; general ones get noted.
- Permissions. Quoting or translating a longer section, or teaching from a pattern.
What we cannot do
We cannot look at a photograph of your knitting and tell you what went wrong, we cannot substitute a yarn for you without your swatch numbers, and we cannot give in-person or video lessons. Messages asking for those will get a short reply pointing at the relevant entry.
Response time
Corrections are usually reviewed within a few days. Other messages may take longer. If a message needs no reply, none will be sent.
Privacy
Writing to us shares your address with us and nobody else. How we handle it is described in the privacy policy.
